GAVA Recruiting LLC recruits and personally screens international talent for U.S. employers through J-1 Work & Travel, Internship and Trainee programs. Hospitality is where we started; any employer with a seasonal peak or a real training program can work with us.

Four parties, one placement.

A J-1 placement involves more than a recruiter. GAVA is not the sponsor, does not issue the DS-2019 and never employs participants. Here is who does what.

  • You, the employer

    • Hire participants directly and pay their wages.
    • Provide housing, or commit in writing to help participants secure it.
    • Interview the shortlist and decide in writing.

  • GAVA

    • Define each role in a written requisition.
    • Screen every candidate twice, personally.
    • Coordinate every party and stay your point of contact all season.

  • The sponsor

    • Vets and approves your business for the program.
    • Issues the program documents, including the DS-2019.
    • Handles escalations GAVA raises during the season.

  • Partner agencies

    • Promote your standardized offer in their home markets.
    • Send applicants into GAVA’s screening.
    • Support participants before they travel.

    Duties, pay, housing, bonuses and candidate profile, approved by you before sourcing starts.

    One scorecard for every candidate

    Every interview is scored the same way, so shortlists are comparable.

    Weekly applicant tracking

    We monitor applicant flow by market every week and adjust early.

  4. 04

    Three check-ins per season

    Week one, mid-season and end of season, with your feedback recorded.
